Spring Floral – Thinking of You

Welcome back!  Design Team Time for Facebook’s Case-ing Tuesday (#558).  Where we select cards from the Catalogs and remake them as we are inspired.  Today’s inspiration can be found on page 46 of the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog.

My design choices were influenced by: Just Us Girls (#816) to use Stencils; As you See It (#369) Colors; and the Tic Tac Toe Board over at Paper Players (#779) selecting two rows: Top Diagonal – Dies, Flowers, Layers and Right Column – Sentiment, Emboss, Layers.

Here is the result:

12 DAYS OF CRAFTING – ITTY BITTY BACKGROUNDS – CT558 – JUGS816 – AYSI369 – PP779

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Top Panel: (4¼” x 3”) Pool Party Two-Tone cardstock dry-embossed with the Beautiful Pattern 3D Embossing Folder, an On-Line Exclusive product, and then buffed with a Sanding Block to bring out the white core pattern.
  • Bottom Panel: (4¼” x 3”) Pretty in Pink Splatter patterned piece of paper from the 2024/2026 In-Color Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Focal Panel: (4¼” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock trimmed to (3¼” x 5”) when stenciling was completed.
    • Using the Stencils from the 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar Kit, still available but on the Last Chance List, Blending Brushes and Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party and Pretty in Pink inks, the design was created.
    • Soft Platter was added using the Splatter image from the retired Itty Bitty Backgrounds stamp set with Pool Party ink.
    • Wink of Stella Glitter was generously applied to the Flowers, but it is difficult to see.  Yet it’s really pretty in real life.
  • Sentiment Banner: Vellum Specialty Paper scrap.
    • The sentiment, Thinking of you, also from the coordinating 12 Days of Crafting Stamp set, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The backside of the Vellum was colored with the Pretty in Pink Stampin’ Blends Marker, for contrast and then die-cut with the one of the Stitched Banner Dies from the Stylish Shaped Dies set.
  • Decoration – Butterfly: Basic White cardstock scrap die-cut with the small Butterfly die from the retired Beautiful Butterflies Dies set and brushed with Pool Party ink.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. The Butterfly was popped up with a Mini Dimensional.

Such a pretty card…

Looking forward to seeing what you create with this week’s sketch.  I hope you play along.
