Country Bunny – Happy Easter

Welcome back!  Alas, this is the last of my Guest challenges as a Crazy Cousin with the Double Trouble Family. Just want to thank the team for inviting me to participate. It has been fun!

Challenge (#213) features 3 Somethings, 2 Anythings and 1 of Everything Else with a Twist to add an Easter element and partner with Try A Sketch On Tuesday (#692).

I selected 3 Colors (Calypso Coral, Boho Blue and Crumb Cake); 3 Techniques (Fussy Cutting, Paper Piecing and Embossing); 2 Patterned Papers (Crumb Cake Linen and a Plaid); 2 Embellishments (Linen Twine and a Button); and 1 Sentiment.

Design Influences – Inspired By (#381) Colors and Country Chic Bunnies; Just Add Ink (#782) Add Two: Twine & Buttons; and sharing with Paper Craft Crew (#666) for their Easter theme.

Here is the result:

FABLED FRIENDS – BUNNY BUDDIES – DT213 – TSOT692 – IB381 – JAI782 – PCC666

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Calypso Coral cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Crumb Cake Linen patterned piece of paper from the retired Woven Textures Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Vertical Strips: (1¼” x 4¼”) Calypso Coral & Boho Blue Plaid patterned piece of paper from the retired Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Focal Panel: (2½” x 2½”) retired Boho Blue cardstock, still in my stash.
    • The Bunny image from the retired Fabled Friends stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • The sentiment, Happy Easter, from the Paper Pumpkin March 2017 Kit – Bunny Buddies, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • Decoration – Bunny: The same Bunny image was stamped again onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock and a scrap of the Plaid patterned paper.
    • The Bunny was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Fur – Light Crumb Cake; Ear & Nose – Dark Petal Pink; and Eyes – a bit of Light Boho Blue (retired) and then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
    • The Plaid Jacket was also fussy-cut with Paper Snips, the Buttons were colored with the Boho Blue Stampin’ Blend Marker and then paper-pieced (adhered) into position.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Focal Panel was popped up with Dimensionals and a double length of Linen Thread was threaded through a retired Very Vanilla Button and tied in a Bow and then added with a Mini Glue Dot.

A sweet Easter card.

  5. Don’t know where that werewolf thing came from, but that comment above is from me, Suzanne Reynolds. Hope this one comes over correctly, not sure what I did to get this.
