Friendly Foliage – Wishing You All The Best

Welcome back!  Happy Saturday.  Here’s hoping that you have some time to be creative today…

The brief: CASE a card created by Leah Dixon for this week’s Facebook’s Global Design Project (#536) incorporating Volume for Alphabet Letter V using colors suggested by Creative Colour (#229) and creating a card suitable for a fellow for Krafty Chicks (#809).

Here is the result:

FRIENDLY FOLIAGE – GDP536 – ACB Letter V – CCC229 – KCC809

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • Accent Mat: (3⅞” x 5⅛”) Garden Green cardstock used as a Neutral color.
  • Background Panel: (3¾” x 5”) Very Vanilla cardstock dry-embossed with the Paradise Garden Hybrid Embossing Folder, a new On-Line Exclusive product.
  • Strips: (⅝” x 4½”) Lost Lagoon, Garden Green and Cajun Craze Two-Tone cardstocks (dark side) dry-embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder and then sanded with a Sanding Block (personal tool stash) to highlight the pattern.
  • Shape: (2” x 3½”) Very Vanilla cardstock die-cut with the (1¾” x 3⅛”) Stitched Ticket Corner die from the Branching Out Dies set, also an On-Line Exclusive product.
    • The sentiment, Wishing you all the best, from the Friendly Foliage stamp set, was stamped with Garden Green ink.
  • Decoration – Meadow Flowering Grass: (1¾” x 4”) Cajun Craze Two-Tone cardstock (light side) die-cut with the Floral die from the Beautiful Motifs Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble Leah’s card.  The Sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals and a few orange-toned retired Amber Gems were added as was a Bow tied with some color coordinating Luxury Knitting Twine from my personal stash.

A lot of dimension and texture, with colors suitable for a masculine card.

  1. You created a wonderful masculine CAS card, perfect for many occasions. I like the beautiful embossing in the background. The foliage is a great match to the floral motif on top of those pretty papers. The colour combo reminds me of autumn, those strips behind your centerpiece bring everything together nicely. I like those gemstones and the bow as well – such a great way to emphasize texture. Thanks for joining the Alphabet challenge.

    Hugs, Veronika
