Welcome back! Design Team Time for Facebook’s Case-ing Tuesday (#553). Where we select cards from the Catalogs and remake them as we are inspired. Today’s inspiration can be found on page 26 of the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog. Taking a Memory page and turning it into a card.
My design was influenced by: Pick 3 (#2602) for the Flowers, the Embellishments and a Coloring Technique; Color Hues (#127) for the Palette; and Crafter’s Café (#327) for a “Girls” card.
Here is the result:
Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Coastal Cabana cardstock.
- Background Panel: (4¼” x 5½”) Coastal Cabana cardstock die-cut with the (3¼” x 4½”) Stitched Arch die from the Everyday Arches Dies set and then dry-embossed with the Lovely Stripes 3D Embossing Folder, both On-Line Exclusive products.
- Arch Inset: (3½” x 4¾”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with the same Stitched Arch die and then dry-embossed with the Beautiful Pattern 3D Embossing Folder, another On-Line Exclusive product.
- Focal Image – Floral Spray: (4¼” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock.
- Using the Layers of Beauty Decorative Masks, the Floral Spray was created by adding colored inks with Blending Brushes. Colors chosen: Stencil 1 – Petal Pink; Stencil 2 – Peach Pie; Stencil 3 – Timid Tiger; Stencil 4 – Summer Splash; and finally, Stencil 5 – Pretty Peacock.
- Once completed, the coordinating Floral image from the Layers of Beauty stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then die-cut with the coordinating die from the Layers of Beauty Dies set. Note: It may be better to start with the stamp and then add the stenciling.
- Sentiment: (4⅛” x 1⅛”) Petal Pink cardstock.
- The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from the Fabulous Sayings stamp set, the Exclusive January 2026 Product of the Month, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. The Flowers were popped up with Dimensionals and a few Coastal Cabana colored retired Tinsel Gems were added for a bit of bling.
I haven’t used the Layers of Beauty stamp set for a while. It is a favorite and can be made in almost any color combination. If you haven’t purchased it yet, you should really consider getting it.
