Sure Do Love You – Heart Happiness

Welcome back!  Monday and the start of a brand-new week.

I can no longer ignore the Valentine push.  I only truly make but one valentine card for my husband yet, the challenge blog world is forcing my hand…that said, I went to my stash of retired goodies for this one.

Starting with Festive Friday (#202) with an entire list of options to combine,

Adding in Just Us Girls (#809) to use Dies and include Hearts; and Inkspiration (#360) with the Word Prompt – XOXO.

Selecting the Color Hues (#126) Red & Pink color scheme and the Paper Craft Crew (#657) Sketch to bring everything all together.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Real Red cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Creating my own patterned paper, the Mini Hearts image from the retired Heart Happiness stamp set was stamped several times with both Bubble Bath and Real Red ink.
• Shape – Heart: (2” x 2¾’) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Watercolor Striped Heart image, also from the Heart Happiness stamp set, was inked with Bubble Bath and then Real Red ink was added with a Sponge Dauber to the alternate lines.
  • The Heart was die-cut with the coordinating Heart die from the retired Lots To Love Box Framelits Dies set and then the edges were inked with Real Red ink applied with the Sponge Dauber.
• Sentiment Banner: (4” x 1½”) Bubble Bath cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, Sure do love you, from the retired Sure Do Love You stamp set, was stamped with Real Red ink and die-cut with the coordinating Banner die, also from the Lots To Love Box Framelits Dies set.
• XOXO: Bubble Bath and Real Red cardstock scraps die-cut with the Mini Alphabet Dies set for the Letters X and O.

Keeping it simple, all elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  Both the Heart and the Banner were popped up with Dimensionals.
