Gears & Textures – To a Great Guy

Welcome back!  I am experimenting today…so let’s see what happened.

I am playing with Just Us Girls (#807) to use Stencils for an Anything Goes theme; TGIF (#561) to use Embossing Powders; and sharing my design with Time Out (#305) for their Techniques theme (Stenciling, Embossing, Die Cutting).

Here is the result:

GEARS & TEXTURES BUNDLE – NATURE’S SYMPHONY – JUGS807 – TGIFC561 – TOC305

STENCILS

Steps:

  • Stencils: Copy Paper.
    • Using various dies from the Gears & Textures Dies set, stencils were created.
  • Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Basic Beige cardstock.
    • Choosing Elements from the Stencils, Versamark ink was applied with a Sponge Dauber and the heat-set with WOW! Basics and Metallics Embossing Powders.
      • Stencil #1: Large Gear with Gold Embossing Powder.
      • Stencil #2: Coordinating Large Gear Openings with Silver Embossing Powder.
      • Stencil #3: Bubble Line and Square Run with Copper Embossing Powder.
      • Stencil #4: Diamond Run and Bow Tie Run with Black Embossing Powder.
      • Stencil #5: Dots Run with Silver Embossing Powder.
    • Adding stamped Elements from the Gears & Textures stamp set stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set: Triple Arrow – Black Embossing Powder and Inky Swirl – Gold Embossing Powder.
    • The sentiment, To a great guy, from the Nature’s Symphony stamp set was also stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Copper Embossing Powder.
      • Note: Not so easy to add all the different embossing powders, one by one, and be free of dusties and/or some smudging but overall, it turned out okay.
  • For some added dimension, the smaller Gear die was die-cut from a scrap of Brushed Silver cardstock (retired and in my stash) and lined with a small Circle die-cut from a scrap of Basic Beige cardstock and popped up with a Dimensional.
  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.

I think this is kind of funky and a great card for a fellow…what do you think?

  1. A+ on your experiment, Jolanda. What a great masculine card and kudos for using all the different embossing powders. Thanks for sharing this with us at Just Us Girls and Time Out.
