Merry White Poinsettia

Welcome back!  Another brand-new week and I am having some fun with my favorite genre…clean and simple but dressed up for the Holidays.

AAA Cards (#305) has an Anything Goes theme with a White-on-White suggested twist.  However, over at Addicted to CAS (#297), they have the code word: Metallic, so I added a little gold to the white.

I chose the new Try a Sketch on Tuesday (#685) layout…a sneak peek.  It doesn’t go live until tomorrow.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Brushed Gold cardstock, retired but still in my stash.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Whisper of Texture Specialty Paper, an On-Line Exclusive product.
• Top Left Square Accent Mat: (2⅝” x 2⅝”) Brushed Gold cardstock.
• Top Left Square: (2½” x 2½”) Gold Striped patterned piece of paper from the retired Silver & Gold Specialty Paper pack.
• Central Square Mat: (2⅞” x 2⅞”) Brushed Gold cardstock.
• Central Square Panel: (3” x 3”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder, also an On-Line Exclusive product.
  • Using a Sponge Dauber, Versamark ink was dabbed to the center of the Flower and heat-set with Gold Embossing Powder and the trimmed to (2¾” x 2¾”).
• Sentiment – Merry: Brushed Gold cardstock scrap die-cut with the Merry die from the retired Christmas Greetings Thinlit Dies set.

All card front elements were adhered and a (5”) length of retired (⅛”) Gold Trim was wrapped around before the completed panel was adhered to the card base.

I love a white-on-white card but the bit of gold makes for a very festive Christmas card.
