Happy Birthday – The Right Words

Welcome back!  It has been a busy Friday.  I’m glad I found some time to get into the Studio.

Over at Stampin’ Up! Only (#390), we have been asked to CASE (copy and selectively edit) a card created by Leilani.  I selected a Square Block design that she had made earlier this year.

My design theme was influenced by: Krafty Chicks (#797) Birthday and Just Add Ink (#775) A Celebration.

For my colors, I took the suggestion from Creative Colour (#221).

Here is the result:

THE RIGHT WORDS – SUOC390 – KCC797 – JAI775 – CCC221

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Blueberry Bushel cardstock.
  • Card Front: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • Blocks: (1¾” x 6”) Ombre Splatter patterned pieces of paper from the 2025/2026 Regals Collection Designer Series Paper pack (Blueberry Bushel and Gorgeous Grape) and the 2025/2026 Brights Collection Designer Series Paper pack (Melon Mambo) and die-cut nine squares, three of each color, with the (1½” x 1½”) Stitched Square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
    • The Blocks were adhered in place, and the excess was trimmed.
  • Decoration – Oval Swirls: Blueberry Bushel and Melon Mambo cardstock scraps die-cut with the large and small Oval dies from the Swirled Designs Dies set, an On-Line Exclusive product.
  • Sentiment Banner: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from The Right Words stamp set was stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink, separating the words with the aid of the Stamp-a-ma-jig Positioning Tool.
    • The Sentiment was then die-cut with the (2⅛” x ⅞”) Stitched Banner die, also from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble Leilani’s layout.

I chose to keep the birthday card clean and bright without embellishments so it would also be suitable for a fellow or a child.  Easy enough to add jewels if I send to a woman.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!
