Decorative Trees – Be Merry

Hi again!  Still a few more deadlines…the theme?  Christmas Trees…

Let’s start with Inspired By (#364) theme and sketch; Make My Monday (#266); Paper Craft Crew (#650) and Farm Quest (#78).

Choosing to create a clean and simple card for CAS on Friday (#323) using Stencils for Just Us Girls (#803).

Here is the result:

DECORATIVE TREES – GIFT OF JOY – IB364 – MMM266 – PCC650 – FQCBB78 – COS323 – JUGS803

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Shade Spruce cardstock.
  • Card Front: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • Stencils: (4” x 5¼”) Copy Paper – heavy weight.
      • Using the Solid Tree die and the Snowflake Tree die from the retired Decorative Trees Dies set, both a Mask and two Stencils were created.
    • Shaded Spruce ink was added to the Snowflake Tree Stencil with a Sponge Dauber.
    • The Snowflake Masking was removed, and the Tree was outlined using the retired older (fine point) Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Write Marker using the Stencil edges as a guide.
    • The Mask created by the Solid Tree die-cut was used to cover the Snowflake Tree.
    • Shaded Spruce ink was again applied with the Sponge Dauber to create the Side Trees, using the Open Tree Stencil.
    • Keeping the Snowflake Tree Mask in place, the Garland Swag image from the Gift of Joy stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder on the Side Trees.
    • The sentiment, May your days be Merry, from the Decorative Trees stamps, now on the Last Chance List, was stamped with Shade Spruce ink.

A nice clean and fresh single layer holiday card featuring a lovely set of trees.
