Nests of Winter – Very Merry

Design Team Time: This round at Hand Stamped Sentiments (#477), we have a wonderful Mood Board full of iconic Holiday images, and I opted for the Cardinals and the Plaid.  Merry Christmas!

My design choices were influenced by: Inkspirational (#355) with their Holiday Tag Motif which led to the Sunday Stamps (#374) Sketch that includes a Tag element.

I am sharing this card with Ellibelle’s Garden Party (#9) for the Cardinals in my yard and Love To Craft (#89) with an Anything Goes theme.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
• Background Panel: Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake Dotted patterned paper from the retired Merry Moments Designer Series Paper pack.
• Tag: (2¼” x 4”) Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow Plaid patterned piece of paper from the same paper pack – the reverse side die-cut with the (2” x 3⅞”) Tag die from the retired Tailor Made Tags Dies set.
• Shape – Cardinal Pair: Multiple Birds patterned piece of paper from the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper pack fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
  • The Pine Greenery color was changed by coloring with the Light Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends Marker to blend better with the Plaid.
• Sentiment Circle: Mossy Meadow cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, Very Merry, from the retired Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then die-cut with the (1¼”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Birds were popped up with Dimensionals and a Linen Thread Double Bow was added to the Tag.

A lovely little holiday card.
