Joyful Tidings – From our Family to Yours

Design Team Time: This round at Hand Stamped Sentiments (#476), we have a sketch with a ton of possibilities.

My design choices were influenced by: Double D (#110525) for Fall Wreaths; Paper Players (#763) for the Colors; and sharing with Just Us Girls (#800) Anything Goes celebrating their 800th Challenge.

Here is the result:

JOYFUL TIDINGS – BRANCHING OUT – GIFT OF JOY – HSSSC476 – DD110525 – PP763 – JUGS800

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Early Espresso cardstock.
  • Left Side Panel: (4” x 4”) Two-Tone Cajun Craze cardstock – light side.
  • Right Side Panel: (1¾” x 4”) Two-Tone Mossy Meadow cardstock – light side.
    • The Panels were adhered together to measure (5¼” x 4”) and then dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder for a bit of texture.
  • Large Circle: (4” x 4”) Gold, White and Basic Beige embossed pattern piece of paper from the Gathering Together Specialty Designer Series Paper pack, an On-Line Exclusive product.
    • The Oranges and Pinecone Swag image from the Joyful Tidings stamp set was stamped with Mossy Meadow ink.
    • Completing the Wreath, the Pine Branch Swag image, from the same stamp set, was stamped with 2nd Generation (stamped off once) Old Olive ink.
    • The Bow image from the Gift of Joy stamp set was stamped with Cajun Craze ink and outlined with a fine-tipped Black Gel Pen.
    • The Oranges, Pinecones and Greenery were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Light Cajun Craze, Bronze, and Light Old Olive, respectively.
    • The completed Wreath was then die-cut with the (3”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • Medium Circle: (2” x 2”) Early Espresso Dotted patterned piece of paper, also from the Gathering Together Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.
    • The sentiment, From our family to yours, from the Branching Out stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then die-cut with the (1¾”) Stitched Circle die from the same Dies set.
  • Small Circle: (1½” x 1½”) Cajun Craze Plaid patterned piece of paper from the Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper pack, also an On-Line Exclusive product, die-cut with the (1¼”) Stitched Circle die from the same Dies set.
  • Strip 1: (3⅜” x ½”) Mossy Meadow / Old Olive Plaid patterned piece of paper from the same paper pack.
  • Strip 2: (3⅜” x ¼”) Sliver cut from the previous (4” x 4”) Square used when creating the Wreath.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  A few retired Adhesive Backed Textured Dots were added to complete the card.

A warm welcoming fall card.

  1. The layout really is very pretty with the overlapping circles. The wreath is a good way to bring in the challenge colours too. Thank you for joining in with my colour challenge this week at The Paper Players.
