Fall Leaves – Thankful

Welcome back!  It’s Sunday and I am grateful that I have some time to play in the Studio…

Today’s card was inspired by Su Mohr, Design Team Member for Facebook’s Global Design Project (#520).  We are asked to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) her card.  I essentially used the layout for my card.

My design choices were influenced by: Tic Tac Toe (#282) with three lines that work and Emboss Resist for my Free Space; If You Give a Crafter a Cookie (#210) Fall Leaves; Can You Handle the Pressure (#25OCT25) for the orange color; and sharing with Four Seasons (November).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Timid Tiger cardstock.
• Background Panel: (3½” x 4¾”) Leaf patterned piece of paper from the Irresistible Designs Specialty Designer Series Paper pack colored with Timid Tiger ink applied with a Blending Brush.  The embossed design was then polished with a soft cloth to bring out the design.
• Accent Panel: (2¾” x 4”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with the Notebook Binding die from the retired Gorgeously Made Dies set.
  • The sentiment, Thankful, from the Lovely Florals stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Pecan Pie ink.
  • The Note Page was then dry-embossed with the retired Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder and a double twist of Linen Thread was wrapped around it.
• Decoration – Leaves and Acorns: Garden Green, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie cardstock scraps.
  • The Oak Leaf die from the Amber Autumn Dies set was chosen for the Leaves.
  • The Acorn die pieces from the Paper Pumpkin Add-On Circle of Seasons Dies set were also die-cut.
    • Dimension shading was added to the Acorns with both the Light Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends Markers.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch, and the Acorns were popped up with Dimensionals.

A nice Fall card…
