Hometown Greetings – Happy Christmas

Welcome back! Hoping you will be able to carve out some time to be creative this weekend…

Today I am playing with the following challenges: Moving Along with the Times (#183) Winter Wonderland combined with Inkspirational (#353) Seeing Stars.

Choosing some of the Just Add Ink (#772) Colors with the Freshly Made (#710) Sketch.

Here is the result:

HOMETOWN GREETINGS EDGELITS DIES – GIFT OF JOY – MAWTT183 – IC353 – JAI772 – FMS710

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Beige cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5½” x 4¼”) Basic Gray Ombre Smoosh patterned piece of paper from the Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper pack, still available but on the Last Chance List.
    • Using the Mini Star die from the retired Hometown Greetings Edgelits Dies set, a series of Star cutouts were created across the top of the panel.
  • Underlay: (5½” x 1⅜”) Timid Tiger cardstock.
  • Landscape Curve with Shapes: (5½” x 4¼”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
    • The Three House die, also from the Hometown Greetings die set, was used to create the scene.  The longer edging was clipped with Paper Snips.
    • An additional curved piece of paper was cut from the scrap remainder with Paper Snips to create more dimension in the snowbank.
    • The sentiment, Happy Christmas, from the Gift of Joy stamp set was stamped with Basic Gray ink.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.

Sparkling stars in a night sky illuminating a winter wonderland of soft snow. A pretty holiday card.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!

  1. Such a clever idea Jolanda to create orange stars using these dies – a favourite of mine too. You’ve created such a unique and elegant Christmas card from these colours. Thanks for sharing with us at Just Add Ink. Jan M
