Joyful Tidings – Home for Christmas

Welcome back! Design Team Time for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (#650).  Lots of possibilities with this one!

Design influences: Jingle Belles (#2520) for the theme and Color Throwdown (#842) for the palette.

Here is the result:

JOYFUL TIDINGS – SNOW FRONT – HEARTS COME HOME – AHSC650 – JB2520 – CTD842

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Beige cardstock.
  • Accent Mat: (3½” x 4¾”) Shaded Spruce cardstock.
  • Front Panel: (3¼” x 4½”) Basic Beige cardstock.
    • The sentiment, All hearts come home for Christmas, from the retired Hearts Come Home stamp set was stamped with Shaded Spruce ink.
  • Shape – Circle: (3¼” x 3¼”) Basic Beige cardstock.
    • The Citrus Swag image from the Joyful Tidings stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Leaves – Light Shade Spruce; Pine Branches – Dark Shaded Spruce; Pinecones – Light and Dark Pecan Pie; Citrus – Light and Dark Pumpkin Pie with a bit of Light Pecan Pie; and Berries – Light Real Red.
    • The Swag Wreath was then die-cut with the (3”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • Decoration – House: Basic Beige cardstock scrap.
    • The Cabin image from the retired Snow Front stamp set was stamped with Pecan Pie ink and accented with both the Light Cloud Cover and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Markers and die-cut with the (1¼”) Stitched Circle die from the same Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  Both the Swag Wreath and the Cabin were popped up with Dimensionals.

A nice homespun Holiday card.

  1. I love the way you’ve added the small cabin stamp to the big wreath… it’s as clever as it is beautiful! So happy you could come “Home for the Holidays” with us at Jingle Belles!
