Darling Baby – A Little Wild Lion

Welcome back! Wow, it is already Thursday…let’s have some fun…

Challenges for today include: Color Dare (#670) for the Palette; The Male Room (#300) for the Theme; Critter Crazy (#103) for the Subject Choice and AAA Cards (#300) for the CAS Style and the Sketch which I flipped to the vertical position.

Here is the result:

A LITTLE WILD – FABLE FRIENDS – CD670 – TMR203 – 2CCCB103 – AAACC300

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Cloud Cover cardstock.
  • Accent Mat: (3⅝” x 4⅞”) Misty Moonlight cardstock.
  • Card Front: (3½” x 4¾”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Lion image from the retired A Little Wild stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and again on to a Post-It-Note.
    • The Lion was colored with the Light and Dark Darling Duckling and retired Wild Wheat Stampin’ Blends Markers.  A touch of Light Timid Tiger was added to the Nose.
    • The Post-It-Note Lion was fussy-cut with Paper Snips and used as a Mask.
    • Shape: Basic White cardstock (4¼” x 5½”) Stencil previously created using the (1¾” x 3⅛”) Ticket Corner Rectangle die from the Branching Out Dies set.
      • With the Stencil in place, Cloud Cover, Misty Moonlight, Old Olive and Basic Beige inks were added with Blending Brushes to create the grounding background shape.
      • With the Mask still in place, the Grass image from the same stamp set was added to the left of the Lion and when the Mask was removed the Grass image was added to the right side, both with Old Olive ink.
      • The sentiment, Darling Baby, from the retired Fable Friends stamp set was stamped with Misty Moonlight ink.

Adhere the layers and the card is complete.  A very nice clean and simple Baby card suitable for a little Boy.

  1. Awww . . . how cute!! I love the shape you used to create your inked focal point; it adds a really fun touch and makes it look special without adding bulk! Thanks for playing with Critter Crazy Challenge.
