Modern Christmas – Winter Scene

Welcome back! Design Team Time for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (#649).  A fun sketch featuring a scene.  Choose to create a scene like I did or do something else entirely. 

I wanted to play with new Modern Christmas Specialty Designer Paper and the Decorative Trees stamp set, both On-Line Exclusive products, so I will share this card with Addicted to Stamps & More (#502) for their current Christmas theme challenge.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Black, White & Gold Circles patterned piece of paper from the Modern Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.
• Frame: (2½” x 3¾”) Gold Foil die-cut with the (2¼” x 3½”) Stitched Arch die from the Everyday Arches Dies set, also an On-Line Exclusive product.
• Arch Inset Panel: (2¼” x 3½”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with the (2” x 3¼”) Stitched Arch die.
  • The Star Cluster image from the Decorative Trees stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Gold Embossing Powder.
• Focal Image – Trees: A Tree Trio was fussy-cut from the Black, White & Gold Trees patterned piece of paper from the same paper pack with Paper Snips.
• Sentiment Strip: Basic Black cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, May your days be merry, also from the Decorative Trees stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and trimmed to (2¾” x ⅜”).

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Tree Trio and the Sentiment were popped up with Mini Dimensionals.

An elegant little Holiday card.
