Amber Autumn – You Make a Difference

Hi again! I love Sunday’s – lots of time to play…

The challenge: Stampin’ Up! Only (#385) to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) a card created by Cynthia Stevenson.  I did a little digging into her Pinterest Board and selected a card.  Elements cased were the layout and the stenciled background omitting the ribbon.

The other challenges that influenced my design were Inspired By (#355) Acorn and the Palette suggested by Color Throwdown (#841).

I am also sharing this card with Double D (#091425) and The Male Room (#202) and their Create Your Own Background challenges.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Night of Navy cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (3¾” x 5”) Boho Blue cardstock (retired but still in my stash).
• Background Panel: (3⅝” x 4⅞”) Basic Beige cardstock.
  • Using the Scattered Leaves stencil from the retired Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks set, Boho Blue (R) and Cajun Craze inks were added with Blending Brushes.
• Accent Mat: (2⅜” x 3⅝”) Cajun Craze cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (2¼” x 3½”) Basic Beige cardstock dry-embossed with the Plaster Painting 3D Embossing Folder, still available but on the Last Chance List.
• Focal Image – Acorns & Oak Leaves: (2” x 3”) Basic Beige cardstock.
  • The Acorn image from the Amber Autumn stamp set was stamped with Night of Navy ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Acorns – Light Cajun Craze; Acorn Caps – Dark Cajun Craze; and Oak Leaves – Light and Dark retired Boho Blue.
  • The Acorn image was then closely trimmed and fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
• Sentiment Label: The sentiment, you make a difference, from the Thankful Garden stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Cajun Craze ink on to a scrap of Basic Beige cardstock, trimmed to (3⅜” x ½”) and diagonally snipped.

A great autumn thank you card.
