Car Park Weave – Happy Birthday

This week at Just Add Ink (#767), we are provided with an Inspiration Photo.  The Car Park.  My takeaway included the colors and the general layout for a masculine birthday card.

Influences: The Male Room (#202) to Create a Background and Krafty Chicks (#784) for the Birthday theme.

I hope my card inspires you and I look forward to seeing how this photo inspires you.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4¼” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock and Scrap Strips from my bin (¾”) and (½”) wide in Basic Black, Basic Gray, Basic White, Real Red and Tahitian Tide.
  • The Strips were woven in a pattern to approximate the colors of the cars in the parking lot and affixed to the cardstock base. Once complete the panel was trimmed to (3⅞” x 5⅛”).
• Sentiment Label: (4¼” x 2½”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The greeting, Happy Birthday, from the Layered Thoughts stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • The Sentiment Letters were colored with the Light Real Red and Light Tahitian Tide Stampin’ Blends Markers.
  • The Sentiment was then die-cut with the (3¾” x 2¼”) Stitched Rectangle die from the Textured Notes Dies set, an On-Line Exclusive product.

All elements were adhered to the card base, with the Sentiment popped up with Dimensionals and a few Basic Black and Basic White Neutral Matte Dots were added to complete the card.
