Soft Seedlings – Hello

A quick – very quick card for you this afternoon.  It has been a busy start to the month and there are still so many things on my To Do List, but a few deadlines are looming…

A favorite, As You See It (#355) has their speed challenge with a theme of Leaves.  Create in 10 minutes or less…yikes!

I decided to go clean and simple and chose the CAS Colours & Sketches (#568) Layout which I flipped to the mirror image and added a stenciled element for Just Us Girls (#790).

Here is the result:

SOFT SEEDLINGS – GORGEOUS LEAVES – ARTISTIC DECORATIVE MASKS – AYSI355 – CC&S568 – JUGS790

Steps:

I got all my supplies ready and hit the timer…

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pecan Pie cardstock.
  • Card Front: (5¼” x 4”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
    • The Diamond Flower Stencil from the retired Artistic Mix Decorative Mask set was laid over top of the cardstock with low tack tape.
    • Using a Sponge Dauber and Old Olive ink, a double line of Diamond Flowers was added across and the Mask was removed.
    • The Splatter image from the retired Gorgeous Leaves stamp set was stamped with Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie inks.
    • The sentiment, hello, from the retired Soft Seedlings stamp set was also stamped with Old Olive ink.
    • The card front was adhered in place.
  • Shape – Leaves: (2¾” x 4¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
    • The Maple Leaf and Seedlings image, also from the Soft Seedlings stamp set, was inked with Darling Duckling ink and stamped off once.  Using Sponge Daubers, Old Olive ink was added to the Stem and the tops of the Leaf while Cajun Craze ink was added to the edges of the Leaf and Seedings.
    • The Leaf was stamped and then fussy-cut with Paper Snips and adhered in place.

The card is complete and there is still 2 minutes 56 seconds on the Timer meaning it took me 7 minutes and 4 seconds.  Not too bad!

Always nice to have simple greeting cards on hand…

Thanks for spending some more of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!

  2. What a beauty, Jolanda! I love this set – it never disappoints. Your stencilled horizontal and grungy backdrop for the leaf are perfect. Your colours are the perfect choice. Great time too – planning makes all the difference. Thanks for joining in with our speed challenge at As You See It.
