Inspiration Squad – You Make Me Proud!

Welcome back! Design Team Time for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (#645).  Lots of possibilities with this one.

Design influences: Critter Crazy (#102); Color Dare (#666); and Can You Handle The Pressure (#25AUG23).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pretty Peacock cardstock.
• Background Panel (4” x 5¼”) Petal Pink Gird patterned piece of paper from the retired Sunny Days Designer Series Paper pack dry-embossed with the So Swirly Embossing Folder.
• Accent Square: (3” x 3”) Pretty Peacock Splatter patterned piece of paper from the 2025/2026 Regals Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
• Accent Mat: (4” x 2”) Timid Tiger cardstock
• Cross Strip: (4” x 1¾”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Grass was added by using the single Pine Tuft image from the new Branching Out stamp set with Pretty Peacock ink.
  • The sentiment, You make me proud!, from the Inspiration Squad stamp set, still available but on the Last Chance List, was also stamped with Pretty Peacock ink. 
• Focal Image – Lion: (2” x 2½”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The Lion image, from the Inspiration Squad stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • Using a Blending Brush, the entire image was colored with Petal Pink ink.  Additional coloring was added with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Body – Light and Dark Timid Tiger with Light Petal Pink; Mane, Tail and Paw – Light and Dark Crumb cake with Light Petal Pink; and Face – a bit of Light Timid Tiger and Light Petal Pink.
  • The Lion was then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
• Flags: Basic White cardstock scrap colored with Timid Tiger and Pretty Peacock inks applied with Blending Brushes and then trimmed to (¾” x 1¼”) and (¾” x 1¾”), respectively and hand flagged with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Lion was popped up with Dimensionals.

A fun card for the little guy across the street starting Grade 1.
