A Travelling We Will Go – Spooky Halloween

Welcome back!  And again, it is the end of the week.

For today’s card, I selected a Halloween theme for Stampin’ Up! Only (#383) and their travelling theme as going door to door for Treats and possibly Tricks fits the bill.

I chose the Global Design (#510) Sketch, but I flipped to the Horizontal position.

Here is the result:

SPOOKY HALLOWEEN BUNDLE – SUOC383 – GDP510 – STTC

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Blackberry Bliss cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
    • Using Blending Brushes, Gorgeous Grape ink was added to the Sky area and Soft Sea Foam was added to the Ground area.
  • Scene Decoration: Basic Black, Highland Heather, Peach Pie cardstock scraps.
    • The House, Bat, and Fence were die-cut with elements from the Spooky Halloween Dies set, an On-Line Exclusive product.
    • The Moon was punched out with (1⅞”) Circle Punch.
    • The sentiment, Spooky, from the Spooky Halloween stamp set, also an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and the House was backfilled with the Highland Heather cardstock scrap.
  • Focal Image(s) – Trick or Treaters: Basic White cardstock scraps.
    • The Witch and the Monster images, both from the same stamp set, Spooky Halloween, were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Cat – Pecan Pie, Petal Pink. Calypso Coral, Highland Heather and Pretty in Pink; and Dog – Smoky Slate, Pecan Pie, Granny Apple Green, Pretty Peacock and Gorgeous Grape.
    • Both the Witch and the Monster were die-cut with the coordinating dies from the Spooky Halloween Dies set but were closely trimmed with Paper Snips to remove the white edges.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the flipped sketch with the Trick or Treaters were popped up with Dimensionals

Not shown, but inside, the sentiment, No Tricks – All Treats and a series of Flying Bats (all from the same stamp set) were stamped onto a Very Vanilla card liner with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Such a fun card.  Happy Halloween!

  1. What an adorable scene you’ve created, Jolanda! I’d say trick-or-treating definitely counts as traveling 🙂 Thanks for playing along with us at SUO Challenges!
