Rustic Centerpiece – Hello

Welcome back! Design Team Time for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (#643) with a cool layout that lends itself to lots of possibilities.

My choices were influenced by Tic Tac Toe (#277) – Right Line and Beautiful Blossoms (#32) for the Sunflowers.

I am also sharing this card with Ellibelle’s I Spy With My Little Eye (#29) for Warm & Sunny Colors, Paper Craft Crew (#635) using Old Olive, Pecan Pie and Darling Duckling along with Ellibelle’s Crafty Wednesday (August) Anything Goes for a Fall inspired Hello.

Here is the result:

RUSTIC CENTERPIECE – BEAUTIFUL MOTIFS – AHSC643 – TTTC277 – BBC032 – EIS029 – PCC635 – ECWC August 2025

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Mossy Meadow cardstock.
  • Card Front: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • Using a previously cut (4¼” x 5½”) Copy Paper Mask created with the (3” x 4¼”) Rectangle die from the now retired Deckled Rectangles Dies set and an Edge piece, Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Darling Duckling and the retired Wild Wheat inks were added with Blending Brushes for a rectangular Ombre background in yellows.
    • The Sunflower image from the Rustic Centerpiece stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink as was the sentiment, Hello, from the Beautiful Motifs stamp set.
    • The image was over-colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Wood Base – Light and Dark Pecan Pie; Apples – Light and Dark Real Red; Jug – Light and Dark Crumb Cake; Eucalyptus – Light Old Olive; Leaves – Light Old Olive and Mossy Meadow; and Sunflowers – Dark Daffodil Delight with Light Pecan Pie centers.

The card front was added to the card base, keeping the card essentially a one-layer design.  A few Black Classic Matte Dots were added to complete the card.

A Sunflower study in yellow reminiscent of a Van Gogh painting.

Looking forward to seeing how you use this week’s sketch.
