Loon Lake – On My Mind

Design Team Time: This round at Hand Stamped Sentiments (#470), we have a versatile sketch and at Cardz 4 Guyz (#377), the theme is Boats.  

TGIF (#538) influenced my choice of papers and therefore my colors.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Misty Moonlight cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Colored Weathered Wood Strip patterned piece of paper from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper pack.
• Cross Strip Accent Mat: (5½” x 2¼”) Naturals White cardstock retired but still in my stash.
• Cross Strip: (5¼” x 2”) Pool Party Weather Wood patterned piece of paper, also from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper pack.
• Focal Panel Mat: (3½” x 2½”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (3¼” x 2¼”) Naturals White cardstock.
  • The Rowboat image from the retired Loon Lake stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored using a Blender Pen.  Colors chosen: Tree – Garden Green and Pecan Pie; Water: Pool Party; Boat – Misty Moonlight and Pecan Pie; Grass – Garden Green; and Rocks – Gray Granite.
  • The sentiment, You’ve been on my mind, from the Beautiful Motifs stamp set was stamped with Misty Moonlight ink in the upper right corner in lieu of the Sentiment Strip as it didn’t quite fit my image.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch which I flipped to the horizontal position.  The Focal image was popped up with Dimensionals and four retired Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots were added to the corners for some charm.
