Little Boy Blue – Birthday

Hi again!  I have another clean and simple card for you this afternoon.

Playing with several similar challenges: CAS on Friday (#315) with a Baby theme and If you Give a Crafter a Cookie (#207) with a Child’s Birthday theme.  Paper Craft Crew (#634) has a Tic Tac Toe Board with a line that includes Baby, Embossing, and Alphabet.

Color choices were influenced by Color Dare (#664) for Shades of Blue and specifically Creative Colour (#206) for the precise colors.

Here is the result:

MOVING FORWARD – CALENDAR ALPHABET & NUMBERS – SPRING CORNERS – COS315 – CC207 – PCC634 – CD664 – CCC206

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Azure Afternoon cardstock.
  • Card Front: (4″ x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • Using a previously cut (4¼” x 5½”) Copy Paper Mask created with the (1¾” x 3⅛”) Rectangle die from the now retired Deckled Rectangles Dies set, Blueberry Bushel, Afternoon Azure and Balmy Blue inks were added with Blending Brushes for an Ombre background.
    • The sentiment, happy birthday, from the Spring Corners stamp set, still available but on the Last Chance List, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • Focal Image: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The Sailing Boat image from the retired Moving Forward stamp set was stamped with Blueberry Bushel ink.
    • The Sail and the Boat Rail were colored with the Light Balmy Blue and Afternoon Azure Stampin’ Blends Markers.
    • The Letters: B-A-B-E, from the retired Calendar Alphabet & Numbers stamp set were stamped with Blueberry Bushel ink onto the Sail.
    • The Boat was then die-cut with the (2⅛”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set and popped up with Dimensionals.

A cute little baby boy birthday card in shades of blue.
