Lovely Florals – Celebrate

Welcome back!  Sneaking in a card on this rather busy Wednesday.  Just an FYI – we had a great class this afternoon.

Playing with the current Freshly Made (#699) sketch, choosing the Facebook Global Design Project (#509) colors and doing a little ink blending with a paint brush for Alphabet (Letter I).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
• Card Front: (4” x 5¼”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
  • Using the (2⅜”) Circle die from the retired Deckled Circles Dies set and a Pencil, an outline circle was lightly drawn.
  • Using a Wide-Tipped Paint Brush, a light wash of Pool Party ink was added to the circle and allowed to dry.
  • Once dry, the Pencil outline was erased.
  • The Floral image from the new Lovely Florals stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product available in September, was inked with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
  • Using a Fine-Tipped Paint Brush, the Flower was water colored with Darling Duckling, Pool Party and Poppy Parade inks. 
  • Using the Wide-Tipped Paint Brush, the colors were swept upwards to the right and allowed to blend.
  • Once dry, the Splatter image from the retired Itty Bitty Backgrounds stamp was stamped with Basic Gray ink.
  • Using the same circle die and a Journaling Pen, the circle outline was added back.
• Sentiment Label: Basic Black cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, Celebrate, from the Beautiful Motifs stamp set was also stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • The Sentiment was trimmed and cut on the diagonal with Paper Snips and popped up with Mini Dimensionals.

A pretty birthday card.
