Beloved – Honey Bee

Welcome back!  Hope your Saturday has been fine.  I am back to creating for a few challenges…

Both Festive Friday (#190) and Double D (#080625) are celebrating National Honey Bee Day.

I used a loose interpretation of the Just Add Ink (#736) Sketch that I flipped to the vertical position.

This required a bit of a dive into my stash of favorites.

Here is the result:

HONEY BEE – QUEEN BEE – FF0190 – DD080625 – JAI736

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Lemon Lolly cardstock.
  • Double Die-Cut Background Panel: (4¼” x 5½”) Basic Black cardstock die-cut with the retired background Hexagon Hives Thinlits Die and then the small Hive die from the retired Queen Bee Dies set was used to die-cut five of the larger Hexagons to mimic the strips indicated in the sketch.  Finished size: (4” x 5¼”).
  • The sentiment, BELOVED, from the retired Queen Bee stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink within one of the Hexagons.
  • Decoration – Bees: Lemon Lolly cardstock scrap.
    • The two Bee images from the retired Honey Bee stamp set were also stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and die-cut with the coordinating dies from the retired Detailed Bees Dies set.

And that was it!  The Bees were popped up with Mini Dimensionals for a rather neat card.

I appreciate you spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!

  1. Love the bold take on the challenge and the way you incorporated the sentiments into the honeycomb. So glad you shared this with us at Festive Friday this week
