Beautiful Butterflies – Hello

Design Team Time: This round at Hand Stamped Sentiments (#469), we have a lovely Color Combination.  

My choices were influenced by: Just Us Girls (#786) Case a Design Team Member.  I combined ideas from Ina Grehan and Lisa Elton.

I am sharing this card with Triple B (August) and Critter Crazy (#101) as the card features a Butterfly.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pool Party cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
  • Using Classic Stampin’ Ink Refills in Blackberry Bliss, Pool Party and Fresh Freesia, small Plates, a Stampin’ Spritzer filled with water and Baby Wipes, the smooshed background coloring was created.  This is to mimic Ina’s background.
  • The sentiment, hello, from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink.
• Decoration – Butterfly: (4¼” x 3½”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
  • The large Butterfly image was stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Both Light and Dark Pool Party and Fresh Freesia.
  • The Butterfly was die-cut with the coordinating Butterfly die from the Beautiful Butterflies Dies set, also an On-Line Exclusive product.  This is to mimic Lisa’s featured element.

The Butterfly was popped up with Dimensionals completing the card.

A profusion of out-of-focus blooms with a lovely bold Butterfly for a nice greeting card.
