I have the pleasure of being invited to be Guest Designer with Heart’s Quest Celebration of Love (#8) for August. As always, the theme includes Birthday, Engagement, Wedding, Anniversary and Sympathy (BEWAS) with an option. This month the option is International Youth Day.

I opted to create a Teenage Birthday card with a Back-to-School twist.
Influences: Seize the Birthday (#310) use a favorite color and if you know me at all, you will know it is Green. How wonderful that Cupcake Inspirations (#623) has selected Green & White.

Additionally, I chose the current sketch over at Inspired By (#347) and instead of back-to-school Lunch Bags, we have a pair of new Sneakers!

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
- Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Shy Shamrock cardstock.
- The sentiment, You’re Awesome, from the retired Epic Celebrations stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder as was the other sentiment, Here’s to an Epic Celebration, onto a Shy Shamrock cardstock scrap.
- Postage Stamp Accent Mats: Basic White cardstock scraps punched out with the retired (1¼”) Postage Stamp Punch.
- Squares: Shy Shamrock Striped and Dotted patterned pieces of paper from the retired 2024/2026 In-Color Collection Designer Series Paper pack punched out with the retired (1”) Square Punch.
- Focal image – Sneakers: Basic White cardstock scrap.
- The Sneakers image, also from the Epic Celebrations stamp set, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with the Light Shy Shamrock Stampin’ Blends Marker and then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch with the Sneakers popped up with Dimensionals. A fun card for a teenager!
Thanks for spending some of your time with me today. Cheers, Jolanda!

Absolutely a great card for a teenage boy. I love your favorite color of green As so often we don’t see that as a favorite. Thanks for the inspiration to remember to use my punches of which I have many and often forget to use them. Thanks so much for sharing your card with us at Seize the Birthday Challenge.
