Splendid Thoughts – Let’s Celebrate

A couple of challenges…Just Us Girls (#785) Stencil Week – Anything Goes and Facebook’s SU! Colour (July).

Giving it some thought, I created a Stencil.  I wanted something a bit Oriental, inspired by the Kintsugi Collection.

I drew the Ornamental Pot onto a section of an Adhesive Sheet and cut out the design with the Hobby Knife attachment for the Take Your Pick Tool using the Pick Tip to clean out the chads.

The single use Adhesive Stencil was added to a piece of Basic White cardstock.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Lemon Lolly cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Lemon Lolly cardstock dry-embossed with the Joined Together 3D Embossing Folder.
• Accent Strip: (1¾” x 5”) Coastal Cabana cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
• Focal Panel: (4¼” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Adhesive Stencil was added to the cardstock.
  • Using a mostly dry (or slightly wet) short fine-tipped Paint Brush, color was added to the Stencil.  Leaves – Lemon Lolly, Stem – Gorgeous Grape and Pot – Coastal Cabana.
  • The Stencil was gently removed.
  • The sentiment, Let’s celebrate, from the retired Splendid Thoughts stamp set was selected and stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink.
  • The Panel was then trimmed to (2¾” x 4”) and popped up with Dimensionals.

I think this would be a very nice card for a new homeowner.  However, it is a quiet card suitable for almost any occasion.
