It’s Your Birthday – Moon Baby

Welcome back!  Happy Saturday.  Here’s to hoping you have some time to be creative.

Over at Double D (#071625), we are challenged to create a card for a child and over at Time Out (#293), we are asked to create with a song in mind.  The Moon Baby stamp set with Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star came to mind.

Additionally, I am playing with Tic Tac Toe (#275) Line: Circle(s), Blue and Birthday with the Creative Colour (#203) Palette.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic Black cardstock with all stamping done with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • The truncated sentiment, Twinkle, Twinkle, and the Stars from the retired Moon Baby stamp set were stamped.
  • The sentiment pieces, It’s Your and Birthday from the retired Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set were stamped.
• Circle: (3¼” x 3¼”) Pool Party cardstock die-cut with the (3”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set and then dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Using my retired Versamark Pen, the Ribbon Line was added and heat-embossed with White Embossing Powder.
• Focal Image – Sleeping Baby: (3” x 2½”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Baby image, from the Moon Baby stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Light Gray Granite, Light Petunia Pop and Ivory.
  • The Moon Baby image was fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
  • Similarly, the Ribbon Line was embossed with the White Embossing Powder.

All elements were adhered to the card base and Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the Stars.

A sweet card for a baby’s first birthday.
