Natural Botanicals – Thinking of You

Welcome back! Happy Monday.  It’s the last day of the month.  The first half of the year has just flown by, and I have been super busy with business related chores today, but I am sneaking in this card for another deadline.

The challenges: Color Throwdown (#835) with a nice bright palette but what to do with it?

So, I picked up on Just Us Girls (#781) for their Stencil week and choosing my stencil style for Inkspirational (#344) for a Geometric Twist.

I selected the current Atlantic Hearts (#636) Sketch to bring everything together.

Here is the result:

NATURAL BOTANICALS – BEAUTIFUL MOTIFS – CTD835 – JUGS781 – IC344 – AHSC636

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Summer Splash cardstock.
  • Background Panel (5¼” x 4”) Basic White cardstock
  • Horizontal Strips:
    • Stencil Panel: (5½” x 4¼”) Basic White cardstock trimmed to (4⅝” x 2⅜”) when stenciling was completed.
    • I selected a Geometric patterned Stencil from Deco Time (size A5) that I have in my stash of tools.
    • I masked off a section to create a strip and adhered the stencil to the cardstock with low-tack tape.
    • Using Blending Brushes, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist and Summer Splash inks were applied.
  • Circle Accent Mat: (3¼” x 3¼”) Daffodil Delight cardstock die-cut with the (3”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • Focal Image: (3” x 3”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Leafy image from the Natural Botanicals stamp set was stamped with Summer Splash ink and colored in with the Light Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blends Marker and then die-cut with the (2½”) Stitched Circle die from the same Dies set.
  • Sentiment Banner: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Thinking of you, from the Beautiful Motifs stamp set was stamped with Summer Splash ink and die-cut with the (2⅝” x ½”) Stitched Banner die, also from the same Dies set.  The Tails were trimmed off.  Finished size: (2” x ½”).

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals and a few retired Green-Toned Dots (from my stash) were added for a bit of bling.

Having fun with stencils and colors for a summer bright thinking of you card.
