Silent Night – Peace to You

Welcome back!  Happy Saturday.  It’s a hot one today, so let’s go wintery with a Christmas card…

The challenges: Jingle Belles (#2512) with a Caroling theme: Krafty Chicks (#772) Anything Goes Christmas Week; and Farm Quest Country Christmas (#21).

Rounding out my idea with the Creative Colours (#197) Palette and the TGIF (#529) Sketch.

Here is the result:

PEACE TO YOU – JB2512 – KCC772 – FQCCCB21 – CCC197 – TGIFC529

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pecan Pie cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Night of Navy cardstock.
    • The sentiment, Silent Night, Holy Night, from the retired Peace to You stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • Shape – Square: (3½” x 3½”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Church image, also from the Peace to You stamp set was stamped with Night of Navy ink and trimmed to (3″ x 3″).
    • The scene was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Trees, Church Cross, Doors and Cross Beam – Light Pecan Pie and Church Windows – Light Strawberry Slush.
  • Horizontal Cross Strip: (4⅞” x 1”) Basic White cardstock scrap dry-embossed with the Sunrise Sailing 3D Embossing Folder, an On-Line Exclusive product, and trimmed with Paper Snips to represent a Snowbank.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.

Happy Holidays.

Beautiful country church winter scene! During the past few days, Joe and I saw many country churches and small town ones, too. We also some grand brick and stone old churches in NY towns like Rochester, Syracuse, Oswego, Rome and Jamestown.
