Spring Corners – Stitched Sampler

Hi again!  A few more challenge deadlines are coming up and I wanted to play with them…

Over at Sunday Stamps (#362) there is a really nice sketch, perfect for scraps and I flipped it to fit my design ideas.

I selected the Paper Players (#741) Colors suggested by Stef and took a look in my scrap bins.  I found pieces of retired Textured cardstock (Groovy Guava, Pool Party and Old Olive) that met the criteria, and my design was influenced by the Farm Quest (#72) Sewing Theme.

Here is the result:

SPRING CORNERS – SSC362 – PP741 – FQCB72

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Old Olive cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Panel was die-cut with the (4½” x 3”) Rectangle Stitched die from the retired Stitched With Whimsy Dies set.
    • The sentiment, you brighten my day, from the Spring Corners stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • The Panel was then dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder for a Linen Fabric look.
  • Blocks: Pool Party, Old Olive and Groovy Guava Textured cardstock scraps from my bin die-cut with the (⅞” x 2⅛”) Stitched Banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
    • The small Floral image, also from the Spring Corners stamp set, was stamped on each Banner with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • The Petals were colored with Dark Balmy Blue, Light Old Olive and Light Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends Markers, respectively, to imitate embroidery stitches.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the flipped sketch, keeping the overall design clean and simple.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!
