Be Brave

Welcome back!  Happy Thursday.

I need a card for a bright young girl embarking on her teens.  I thought the color palette over at TGIF (#528) was ideal and the bold design at Sketch Saturday (#777) would be perfect for my idea.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
• Lower Rectangle: (4½” x 2½”) Lemon Lime Twist cardstock dry-embossed with the So Swirly Embossing Folder.
• Upper Rectangle: (3½” x 2¾”) Melon Mambo cardstock, also dry-embossed with the So Swirly Embossing Folder.
• Circle Accent Mat: (2¾” x 2¾”) Lemon Lime Twist cardstock die-cut with the (2½”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
• Focal Circle: (2½” x 2½”) Basic Black cardstock die-cut with the (2⅛”) Stitched Circle die, from the same die set.
  • The Five-Star die from the retired Wanted To Say Dies set was used to cut out the Stars.
• Sentiment – BE BRAVE: Melon Mambo and Basic Black cardstock scraps were die-cut with the principle Mini Alphabet Die for the Letters needed.
• Star Inset: Melon Mambo cardstock scrap, also die-cut with the Five-Star die.

All elements were added to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Melon Mambo Stars were inset, the Basic Black Stars were adhered in place and all the Letters were arranged and adhered.  Three Basic Black and three Very Vanilla (colored with the Dark Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blends Marker) retired Classic Matte Dots were added.

I love how “groovy” this card became.  I think she will love it!
