Celebratory Sips – Happy Birthday

Welcome back!  Monday and the start of a brand-new week.  A week full of possibilities…

Some fun challenges about: AAA Birthday (#74) with no actual stamping; TGIF (#527) using the Celebratory Sips product line; Inspire Create (#194) looking for a Window or two; and the Just Add Ink (#753) Sketch which is ideal for windows.

Here is the result:

CELEBRATORY SIPS DSP – AAABCB74 – TGIFC527 – ICC194 – JAI753

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Peach Pie cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Timid Tiger / Peach Pie Diagonal Stripe patterned piece of paper from the Celebratory Sips Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Window Frames: (3¾” x 5”) Peach Pie cardstock die-cut with the (1½” x 2⅛”) Stitched Rectangle die from the Nested Essentials Dies set and further die-cut with the (1” x 1¾”) Stitched Rectangle die from the same set to create the frames.
  • Window Inset: (1¼” x 8”) Basic White cardstock scrap die-cut with the same (1” x 1¾”) Stitched rectangle die.
  • Decoration – Cocktails: (2” x 12”) Colorful Cocktails patterned piece of paper, also from the Celebratory Sips Designer Series Paper pack. Using Paper Snips, four Cocktails were fussy-cut.
  • Sentiment – Happy Birthday: (3¼” x 1¾’) Timid Tiger and Basic White cardstock.
    • Using the Happy Birthday die from the retired Wanted To Say Dies set, the sentiment was die-cut first from Timid Tiger cardstock, but I didn’t quite like it.  So, I then die-cut it in Basic White, which I much preferred.  The two pieces were adhered together to create a thicker die-cut.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  I kept the design centrally aligned as opposed to right-side offset because that is just me.  The Cocktails were popped up with Mini Dimensionals.

I love how bright and fun this birthday card turned out.  A toast to a good friend!

  1. Such a fun card, Jolanda! I love the layering of the nested dies, and the fussy cut beverages make a fun addition to your card. Thanks for playing along this week at Just Add Ink. Rochelle xo
