Nests of Winter – Thinking of You

Welcome back! How can it already be Thursday…

A quiet and reflective winter card for Farm Quest Country Christmas (#20) showcasing LeAnne’s Paper Players (#739) Sketch.

Here is the result:

BEAUTIFUL MOTIFS – NESTS OF WINTER DSP – FQCCCB20 – PP739

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pecan Pie cardstock.
  • Card Front Panels: (4” x 5”) Birds and Pussy Willows patterned piece of paper from the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper pack cut into three pieces.
  • Sentiment Banner: Pecan Pie cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Thinking of You, from the Beautiful Motifs stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then die-cut with the (2¾” x ½”) Stitched Banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base.  A swirl of Linen Thread was set behind the Banner which was popped up with Dimensionals.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!

  1. You’ve used those pretty papers to their best, Jolanda! Love how you positioned the birds to fit the sketch! Thanks for playing with us this week!

  2. I like the scene spread across the three panels. It just make it so much more interesting that way. The little twist of twine is a nice finishing touch. Thanks for sharing with us at The Paper Players.

  3. Loving the paper! Never thought about seeing winter birds resting on pussy willows but it works great and divided into 3 sections worked beautifully! Coiling the white twine makes me think of nest material that many birds will gather to add in their structures! Makes for a terrific rural wintery scene holiday card! Thanks for creating and sharing with FQCCCB! — Becca
