Happy Birthday – Layered Thoughts

Hi again!  Another quick card…this time for a fellow.

I am playing with Festive Friday (#185) for a Guy Styled card, selecting the Facebook’s Global Design Project (#498) Sketch and the Creative Colour (#195) Palette of distinctly masculine colors.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic Beige cardstock dry-embossed with the Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder, an On-Line Exclusive product. (Textured Cardstock).
• Cross Strips: (2” x 4¼”) Shaded Spruce and Blackberry Bliss cardstock. (Geometric Shape – Hexagon).
  • The word Happy, part of the Happy Birthday sentiment, from the Layered Thoughts stamp set was selectively inked with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder. (Strong Font Style).
  • The sentiments were die-cut with the (3⅞” x 1¾”) Stitched Elongated Hexagon die from the Nested Essentials Dies set.
• Block: Crumb Cake cardstock scrap.
  • The word, Birthday, part of the Happy Birthday sentiment, from The Right Words stamp set was selectively inked with Blackberry Bliss ink and trimmed to (1½” x ⅝”).

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.

A nice clean and simple masculine birthday card.
