Along These Lines – Happy Birthday

Welcome back!  It’s the Thursday edition…

I started with the Alphabet (Letter C) for Circles and the Crafter’s Café (#219) Twist – No Squares.

There wasn’t a current Sketch challenge that suited my purposes, so I went over to Pinterest for a browse and found this one, which I flipped to the mirror image.

Next, I selected the Sunday Stamps (#360) Color Palette choosing to create a Masculine Birthday card for AAA Birthday (#73) celebrating their 6th Anniversary and to share my card with Double Trouble (#191).

Here is the result:

ALONG THESE LINES – THE RIGHT WORDS – ACB Letter C – CCCB219 – SSC360 – AAABCC73 – DT191

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pecan Pie cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with the Curved Stitched die from the retired Basic Borders Dies set.
    • The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from The Right Words stamp set was stamped with Pecan Pie ink and then the Panel was dry-embossed with the Glass Embossing Folder, an On-Line Exclusive product.
  • Background Under Panel: (4” x 2¼”) Striped Kraft Wrapping Paper from my stash.
  • Shapes – Circles & Banner: Basic White cardstock scraps colored in a cross-hatch pattern with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Large Circle – Light Poppy Parade; Medium Circle – Dark Daffodil Delight retired Stampin’ Blendabilities Marker; Small Circle – Light and Dark Lemon Lolly; and Banner – Light Balmy Blue.
    • The colored paper pieces were then die-cut with Stitched dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies set. Large Circle (2½”); Medium Circle (1¼”); Small Circle (¾”); and Banner (1” x 4⅛”) Elongated Cut.
    • The Bicycle image from the Along These Lines stamp set was stamped with Pecan Pie on to the Poppy Parade Circle.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the mirrored sketch, and three colored Adhesive Dots were added for interest.  Daffodil Delight from the retired Glossy Dots Assortment and Copper Clay and Boho Blue from the retired 2023/2025 In-Color Dots.

What little fellow wouldn’t love to get a Bicycle for their 6th Birthday?
