More Messages – A Toast or Two to You

Facebook’s Stampin’ Through the Catalog is featuring the new On-Line Exclusive stamp set – More Messages.  A great set of sentiments.

A few challenges that relate: Festive Friday (#184) celebrating National Wine Day; Shopping Our Stash (#547) with a Wine theme; and choosing the Color Dare (#650) suggestion of a Deep Wine color with a Dark Blue.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Cherry Cobbler cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Night of Navy cardstock.
• Card front: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The entire More Messages Background Stamp was stamped with Night on Navy Ink.
• Acetate Overlay: (2” x 5¼”) Window Sheet.
  • The Wine Glass image from the retired Hip, Hip Hooray stamp set was stamped twice with Stazon Jet Black ink, a waterproof permanent ink.
  • On the reverse side, the Wine was added with a mix of Dark Cherry Cobbler and retired Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blends Markers.
• Sentiment Highlight: Basic White cardstock.
  • The background stamp was reinked, with Night of Navy ink, in the area of the spotlighted sentiment, You’re simply incredible, and the cardstock scrap was pressed on to it.
  • The scrap was then colored with a combination of Stampin’ Blends Markers colors to achieve a similar tone to the Wine.  Colors are brighter on acetate than on paper.  (Cherry Cobbler, Rich Razzleberry and some Highland Heather) and trimmed to (1¾” x ⅝”) and then adhered over top.

The layers were adhered to the card base and the Acetate was added with Mini Glue Dots in the four corners and hidden behind shiny Rhinestone Basic Jewels
