Celebrate The Good Stuff

Design Time for The Card Concept (#217) and we have a Patriotic Décor themed inspiration photo this month.  I picked up on the Table Runner and the Wooden elements.

I opted for a clean and layered styling for this card.

Additional influences: Inspire Create (#192) to add a Tag; TGIF (#524) for the Sketch design and sharing with Color Throwdown (#832) with a similarly colored quilted photo choice.

Here is the result:

PICTURE PERFECT BIRTHDAY – TCC217 – ICC192 – TGIFC524 – CTD832

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4¼” x 5½”) Parquet Wooden patterned piece of paper from the retired Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Upper Block Accent Mat: (3⅞” x 3⅞”) Night of Navy cardstock
  • Upper Block Under Panel: (3¾” x 3¾”) Basic White cardstock.
    • Various retired patterned paper strips were cut and adhered in a “Starburst” pattern.  The patterns: Misty Moonlight Leaf – Boho Indigo; Real Red Denim – Regals Color Collection; Night of Navy Floral – Boho Indigo; and Boho Blue Stripe – Poetic Expressions.
  • Bottom Block: (3⅜” x 1¼”) Night of Navy die-cut with one of the retired Stitched Tag dies from the Tailor Made Tags Dies set.
    • The sentiment, Celebrate the good stuff, from the retired Picture Perfect Birthdays stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • Shapes – Circles: Real Red Denim, Night of Navy Floral and Boho Blue Stripe scraps
    • Created using the (1¼”) and (¾”) Stitched Circle dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies set and the retired (⅜”) Circle Punch.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Circles were popped up with Dimensionals and a small bow was tied from retired Braided Linen Twine and added to the Tag.

My Mother-in-Law was a great quilter, and it was always fun to search out fabric for her creations. Creating Quilt Styled cards is a great way to use up your pretty paper scraps.
