The Right Words – Birthday Celebration

Design Team Time: This round at Cardz 4 Guyz (#372), we have a Sketch, and I did rotate the orientation to the vertical.

My choices were influenced by Tic Tac Toe (#270), and the center Board Line: Stripes, Plaid and Metallic Brads with the CAS on Friday (#308) Black and White plus one color suggestion, using Summer Splash.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Strip (1): (5¼” x 1⅛”) Black and White Chevron Striped patterned piece of paper from the retired Pattern Party Designer Series Paper pack colored with the Dark Summer Splash Stampin’ Blends Marker.
• Strip (2): (4⅝” x 1”) Black and White Plaid patterned piece of paper, also from the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper pack.
• Center Block: (2¾” x 4”) Black Dotted patterned piece of paper, again from the same paper pack.
  • The sentiment, To someone worth celebrating every single day!, from The Right Words stamp set, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
• Sentiment Strip: White Striped Dotted patterned piece of paper, again from the same paper pack.
  • The sentiment, Happy Birthday, also from The Right Words stamp set, was stamped with Summer Splash ink.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the rotated sketch.  Two Silver-toned Metallic Brads were added to the Sentiment Label which was popped up with Dimensionals.

A clean and simple masculine birthday card.  Black and White is always a great combination and adding a pop of color creates interest.
