Beside Me – Dad Time

Hello again!  A challenge deadline has snuck up on me…

The very dramatic image colors presented by Color Dare (#649) reminded me of those found in a sunset.  To that end, I selected the implied “Dad” theme over at Inspiration Station (#73) to complete my idea(s) for this card.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Daffodil Delight cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (3⅜” x 4⅝”) Basic Black cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (3¼” x 4½”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Beach Boy & Dad image, from the Beside Me stamp set, still available but on the Last Chance List, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then completely “blacked out” with both Fine-Tip and Medium-Tip Black Sharpie Markers.
  • Using Blending Brushes, the sunset was created with Daffodil Delight, Timid Tiger, Poppy Parade, Gorgeous Grape and Blueberry Bushel inks, in that order.
  • The Seagull image and the sentiment, Beside me all the way, from the same stamp set, were then added with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the “Beach” line was extended with the Fine-Tip Sharpie.

All layers were adhered to the card base for a very simple stamped card.  Just stamps, ink and paper!
