Design Time: Facebook’s Case-ing Tuesday (#511) CASE-Ing Challenge where we copy and selectively edit a card found within Stampin’ Up!’s current catalogs. Today? The card can be found on page 134 of the May 2025 – Apr 2026 Annual Catalog.

Two challenges influenced my design choices today: Festive Friday (#183) with a list of particular elements and you must choose a minimum of three and Facebook’s As You See It (#347)* with a specific Recipe of Theme, Tools, Materials and Technique.

I am also sharing this card with Love To Craft (#86) Anything Goes.

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pecan Pie cardstock.
- Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic Beige cardstock dry-embossed with the Plaster Painting 3D Embossing Folder, an On-Line Exclusive product.
- Vertical Cross Strip: (1⅞” x 5¼”) Cajun Craze / Pecan Pie Plaid patterned piece of paper from the Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper pack, available On-Line.
- Accent Trim: (¾” x 3⅜”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
- Frame: (4¼” X 5½”) Cajun Craze cardstock die-cut with the Double Frame die from the Gallery Blooms Dies set. Smaller Frame chosen (2⅝” x 4⅜”) dry-embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder, still available but on the Last Chance List.
- Frame Inset: (4¼” x 5½”) Basic Beige cardstock, also die-cut with the Double Frame die.
- The Galloping Horse and Grass image from the retired Let It Ride stamp set was stamped with retired Soft Suede ink onto the Inset (1⅝” x 3⅜”) piece and colored with the Light and Dark Pecan Pie and the Light Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends Markers. A few details were added back in with my Fine-Tipped Black Liquid Gel Pen.
- Sentiment: Mossy Meadow cardstock scrap.
- The sentiment, Happy Retirement, from the Sunrise Sailing stamp set, also an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. (9”) of retired Old Olive Linen Twine was tied in a knot around the Crumb Cake Accent Trim, completing the card.
A super masculine retirement card.
I am looking forward to seeing your project based on this week’s sketch.

Jolanda, I love the colors and the DSPs that you paired. The texture on the focal layer from the embossing folder adds another layer of texture. The twine adds an earthy touch and is perfect with your focal element. Fabulous card. So glad you shared this with us at Festive Friday this week

Yay – we are back Jolanda! Love this card Jolanda – the plaid, twine and embossing give the whole thing a lovely rustic feel and the freedom of the galloping horse is perfect for a retirement card too. Thanks for sharing with us over at As You See It!

Thanks for hanging in with us, Jolanda, despite our technical challenges! I love your western theme here with the horse image, so skillfully coloured, the plaid, the twine and the texture! Thanks for joining us at As You See It!
