Trusty Tools – Father’s Day

Welcome back!  Welcome to the weekend…

I had the chance to be a little creative before we embarked on our Saturday plans.

Playing with the Paper Craft Crew (#619) Tic Tac Toe Board Line: Masculine, Metal and Tools.

I selected the Facebook’s Global Design Project (#494) Sketch and the Creative Colour (#191) Palette to bring everything together.

I was happy to see that the Trusty Tools stamp set & dies made it into the new Annual Catalog, and I snagged a few pieces of retired Trusty Tools Designer Series Paper to go with.

Here is the result:

TRUSTY TOOLS – PCC619 – GDP494 – CCC191

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Misty Moonlight cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Crushed Curry Ruled patterned piece of paper.
  • Shapes – Tools: (4¼” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The various Tool images: Paint Brush, Hammer, Pencils, and Wrench were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • The coordinating Two-Step Tool Handle images were added with Misty Moonlight ink.
    • Additional color was added with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Hammer Head, Wrench Head and Paint Bristles – Light Smoky Slate; Pencil Erasers – Light Pretty in Pink; and Pencil Wood – Light Wild Wheat.
    • Each Tool was die-cut with the coordinating die.
  • Sentiment Strip: (3¾” x ⅝”) Gray Granite patterned piece of paper.
    • The sentiment, Happy Father’s Day and the Nuts & Bolts image, were stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Silver Embossing Powder.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Sentiment Strip was popped up with Dimensionals.
