Just feeling the Country look of happy yellow gingham for today’s card.
Make My Monday (#250) has a Things with Wings theme, and I chose the cute Duck Family from Fable Friends; Inspiration Station (#72) has a Mother Love inspiration photo as a prompt.
I chose the Try A Sketch on Tuesday (#669) Layout including patterned paper, a popped image and a sentiment tag to bring my ideas together and I am sharing this card with Critter Crazy (#98) for their Anything Goes with Animals theme.
Here is the result:
Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Daffodil Delight cardstock.
- Accent Mat: (3⅞” x 5⅛”) Basic White cardstock.
- Background Panel: (3¾” x 5″) Daffodil Delight Gingham patterned piece of paper from the Floral Delight Designer Series Paper pack.
- Decoration: Basic White cardstock scraps.
- The Mama Duck image from the retired Fable Friends stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
- The Chicks Trio image, also from the same stamp set, was stamped onto the Silicone Craft Sheet with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the cardstock was pressed onto it for the reverse/mirror image.
- The Ducks were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers. Colors chosen: Clothing – Light and Dark Daffodil Delight; Beaks and Feet – Light Pumpkin Pie; Mama Mouth – Light Petal Pink; and Feather Shadowing – Light Smoky Slate.
- Each Duck was then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
- Sentiment Tag: (2” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
- The sentiment, Happy Mother’s Day, from the April 2014 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Framed Love stamp set was stamped with Daffodil Delight ink and die-cut with the (3⅜” x 1⅝”) Stitched Tag die from the retired Tailor Made Tags Dies set.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. The Mama Duck was popped up with Dimensionals.
A sweet card from the entire flock.

Such a cute Mother’s Day card, Jolanda! It reminds me of my own Mother who used to keep a painted concrete goose on her front porch. She had outfits for it for all the holidays and seasons – even a yellow raincoat and hat! Thank you for sharing your card with us at TSOT!!! -Donna
