Lily Pond – Friendly Thoughts

Design Team Time: This round at Cardz 4 Guyz (#371), the theme is “Water”, a body of water, and I chose a Pond.

My choices were influenced by Retro Rubber (#253), and the Tic Tac Toe Board Line: Green; Die Cut(s); and Stitching and Claire’s Paper Players (#735) Sketch.  I am also sharing this card with Krafty Chicks (#765) for their Masculine theme week.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Granny Apple Green cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5⅜” x 4⅛”) Balmy Blue cardstock die-cut with the Pattern of Friendship Die, an On-Line Exclusive product, for one of the stitching elements.
• Cross Strip: (7”) Whisper White retired Flax Ribbon, set behind.
• Accent Mat: (3⅝” x 4⅞”) Pretty Peacock cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (3½” x 4¾”) Scenic patterned piece of paper from the Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper pack, still available but on the Last Chance List.
  • The sentiment, With friendly thoughts and best wishes today and everyday!, from the retired Floral Essence stamp set (circa 2019), was stamped with Pretty Peacock ink.
• Shape – Circle: (3” x 6”) Pond Scene with Frog & Koi Fish patterned piece of paper, also from the Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper pack cut in half at (3”) and then the Frog was die-cut with the (2⅛”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch with the Frog popped up with Dimensionals.

A card suitable for a boy’s birthday.
