Natural Botanicals – Missing You

Design Time: Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#508) CASE-Ing Challenge where we copy and selectively edit a card found within Stampin’ Up!’s current catalogs.  Today?  The card can be found on page 19 of the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog.

As it happens, Facebook’s Stampin’ Through the Catalog is featuring the stamp set Natural Botanicals today and I paired it up the As You See It (#345) palette

Here is the result:

NATURAL BOTANICALS – PAINTED STRIPES – THE RIGHT WORDS – CT508 – STTC – AYSI345

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Garden Green cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Painted Stripes Background stamp, an On-Line Exclusive product, was inked with Garden Green ink and the Panel was pressed onto it and smoothed with my fingers.
  • Tilted Rectangle Panel: (3” x 4½”) Garden Green cardstock die-cut with the (2¾” x 4¼”) Stitched Rectangle die from the Textured Notes Dies set, also an On-Line Exclusive product.
  • Rectangle Panel: (2¾” x 4¼’) Basic White cardstock die-cut with the (2⅝” x 4”) Lattice die from the Linked Together Dies set, currently on the Last Chance List.
  • Decoration – Flowers: Basic White cardstock scraps.
    • The Reversible Daisy image from the Natural Botanicals stamp set was stamped with Gorgeous Grape, Fresh Freesia and Peach Pie ink.
    • The reverse side was stamped with 2nd Generation (stamped off once) ink and the detail side was stamped again over top with the same colors at full strength.  The Flowers were fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
  • Sentiment Accent Mat: (2½” x ½”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • Sentiment Label: (2⅜” x ½”) Garden Green cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, I Miss You Already, from The Right Words stamp set, available with the new catalog, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  Several Flowers and the Sentiment were popped up with Dimensionals and a few Antique Pearls, another new product, were added for a bit of bling.

A lovely friendship card.

  1. I love that the Garden Green is the dominant colour in this entry, Jolanda. Those flowers almost look like you used Versamark on cardstock, but they are very effective! Thanks for joining us at As You See It!

  2. Love the strong use of green in your card, Jolanda – very fresh. I really like that striped background. It adds interest and is at once both structured but fluid. Thanks for sharing with us sat As You See It.
