Remarkable You – Friends

Welcome back!  Wednesday already…

Playing with a few challenges:  Creative Creases (#101) always a Fun Fold; Shopping Our Stash (#544) also a Fun Fold this time around; and choosing the Atlantic Hearts (#623) Sketch because it would make a great Gate Fold card.

Additionally, I chose the Tic Tac Toe (#267) Board Line – Enamel Dots, Die Cut and Free (picking a Fun Fold) with the Color Dare (#644) Palette.

Here the is the result:

YOU ARE REMARKABLE – CCC101 – SOS544 – AHSC623 – TTTC267 – CD644

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 2⅛” and 6⅜”) Petal Pink cardstock.
  • Accent Panels: (2” x 5⅜”) Timid Tiger cardstock.
  • Background Panels: (1⅞” x 5¼”) Black and White Open Leaf patterned piece of paper from the Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper pack, an On-Line Exclusive product.
    • The Leaves were colored with the Light Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends Marker and the Background was colored with Petal Pink ink using a Blending Brush.
  • Decorative Top Panel Accent Mat (#1): (3⅛” x 4⅛”) Poppy Parade cardstock.
  • Decorative Top Panel Accent Mat (#2): (3” x 4”) Petal Pink cardstock.
  • Decorative Top Panel Accent Mat (#3): (2⅞” x 3⅞”) Timid Tiger cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (3” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Floral image from the You Are Remarkable stamp set, also an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • Using the coordinating Two-Step Flower Petals, Flower Center and Leaves images, 2nd Generation (stamped off once) Poppy Parade, Blueberry Bushel and Timid Tiger inks were stamped respectively.
    • The sentiment, Friends are flowers in the garden of life, was stamped with Blueberry Bushel ink.
    • The right side of the Flower was fussy cut with Paper Snips. The (2¼” x 3¾”) Stitched Rectangle die from the Textured Notes Dies set, also an On-Line Exclusive product, was fitted around the cuts to allow the Flower to pop-out.
      • Note: This did not actually work out as planned, so I die cut another Rectangle from Basic White cardstock and adhered the two pieces together resulting a panel that was (2¾” x 3¾”).  I think if I did this again, I would just fussy-cut the entire Flower and adhere it to the die-cut Rectangle.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch, and three Peach Pie 2024/2026 In-Color Shimmer Gems were added for a bit of bling.

Gate Folds are one of the simplest and basic Fun Fold cards, yet they are cool when opened.
