Nests of Winter – Peace on Earth

Time again for Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#505), where we CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) cards found within Stampin’ Up!’s current catalogs.  Today?  The card can be found on page 48 of the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog.

Today’s design was influenced by: Jingle Belles (#2506) a holiday card featuring green and Farm Quest Country Christmas (#18).

Additionally, I am sharing this card with Double D (#031925) for the Bird theme and Make My Monday (#248) for making it green.

Here is the result:

CHRTSTMAS LABELS – NESTS OF WINTER DSP – CT505 – JB2506 – FQCCCB18 – DD031925 – MMM248

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Mossy Meadow cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Green Plaid patterned piece of paper from the Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper pack to give the card a “country” feel.
  • Split Diamond Shape(s): (4” x 4”) Basic Beige and Mossy Meadow cardstocks die-cut using the Stitched Diamond die from the Linked Together Dies set.
    • The Mossy Meadow Diamond was cut in half and used as an accent mat.
  • Focal Image – Bird on Branch: Multiple Bird patterned piece of paper from the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper pack, still available as an On-Line Exclusive product, was fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
    • To minimize the “white” bits left behind, I added a bit of Basic Beige ink with a small Stipple Brush.
  • Sentiment: Mossy Meadow cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Peace on Earth, from the Christmas Labels stamp set, still available but on the Last Chance List, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat set with White Embossing Powder and then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Bird was popped up with Dimensionals and a Linen Thread Double Bow was added to complete the country look.

A pretty little Holiday card.

I am looking forward to seeing how you choose to use the sketch this week.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!

  2. This is a marvelous farm country charmer of a Christmas card!!! I’m loving the choice of the plaid and then the white behind the chickadee makes me think of snow! Awesome! Thanks for creating and sharing this month for FQCCCB! — Becca
