Soft Spring – Simply Said Hello

Design Team Time: This round at Hand Stamped Sentiments (#459), we have a wonderful inspiration board.  I was drawn to the Lavendar Patch photograph on the right.

The Christmas (or not) Bingo (#12) Board – Letter “B” influenced how I created the card.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pool Party cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (3⅝” x 4⅞”) Misty Moonlight cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (3½” x 4¾”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
  • Using the Wide-Tipped Water Painter and ink pulled from the Ink Pad Lids, Pool Party was added to the Sky, Boho Blue was added to the Horizon and Wild Wheat was added to the Ground.
  • Using Paper Towel, some of the Pool Party and Boho Blue inks were removed to create Clouds.
  • The Fine-Tipped Water Painter was used to splatter water creating raindrops.  Excess water was picked up with the point of the Paper Towel.
  • The Lavendar Plant and Dragonfly images from the retired Soft Spring stamp set were stamped with Misty Moonlight ink.
  • The Two-Step In-Fill Leaf image, from the same stamp set, was stamped with 2^nd Generation (stamped off once) Wild Wheat ink.
  • Using my Fine-Tipped Black Liquid Gel Pen, I doodled in some of the details on the Dragonflies, Lavender and Leaves.
• Sentiment Oval: Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, Hello, from the Simply Said stamp set, was also stamped with Misty Moonlight ink and punched out with the retired (1¾” x ⅞”) Oval Punch.
  • Using a Sponge Dauber, Pool Party ink was added to the define the edges of the Oval.

I always enjoy the opportunity to do a little bit of water coloring, and this was an easy card to make.
